Clipping the unit to my hat left both hands free for tent ropes and knots. The beam followed my head without holding a torch between my teeth.

Across the whole work area, the 180-degree COB beam gives broader light than one narrow circle. I used it while sorting tools in a dim corner of the garage.

Along the dark footpath beside our house, 200 lumens was more than enough. I angled the cap slightly down to keep light out of other eyes.

Once clipped to the brim, the light stayed aimed where I looked while I gathered firewood before dinner. No separate strap was needed.

Three AAA batteries were included, so I could use the cap light on arrival. The compartment opens clearly when those cells eventually need replacing.
