Rolling the towel into its drawstring bag stopped it spreading through my luggage. It washed clean after several days of use.

After a few uses, the towel lives in the car because it folds so small. Sand shook off more easily once the fabric had dried.

At 75 by 130 centimetres, it worked after a full shower but occupied little backpack space. That mattered on a warm weekend hike.

At first, the blue colour stood out on the crowded bench and the fabric absorbed water quickly. I hung it briefly before packing up.
