Children dipped the twelve silicone balls in a bucket, watched them close and ran off to play. We found and rinsed them afterward instead of collecting torn rubber from the yard.

We divided the set between two groups for an afternoon game. The soft silicone was easier to pick up after each splash than tiny pieces of traditional water balloons.

A tub of water and the balls were all we needed. Children refilled them at the tap and kept playing until we asked everyone to help collect the set.

I separated the magnetic halves to dry them before packing the twelve back into the box. They take little room on our toy shelf between sunny days.

My youngest could fill a 6cm ball without tying a knot. It stayed together during the short run across the lawn and opened when it landed.
